Anyone who has hiked out to Green Point at West Quoddy Head Park in the summer will recognize the Wild Blue Iris that bloom en masse among the grasses near the tree line. In this painting, the Iris are blooming among the rocks as storm clouds blanket a lighter horizon over Grand Manan. This is a typical scene when stormy weather blows in off the Atlantic.
